300 Madison Avenue

New York, NY

This 40-story, 1.2 million-square-foot skyscraper was already under construction when the events of September 11 forced architects to rethink the design. Its revisions included an imaginative curtain wall façade of stainless-steel spandrel panels and fins to meet post-9/11 security requirements and a structural steel core.
