Although stainless steel has been used for structural applications in the United States since the early 1900s, only with the upcoming publication of AISC’s Structural Stainless Steel design guide will architects and engineers have a U.S. resource dedicated to the design of hot-rolled and welded stainless steel open sections and hollow structural sections and their connections. This program, presented by the organizations which joined forces to sponsor development of this much-awaited document, offers the design community an introduction to the guide by its writers and case studies of projects from around the world illustrating various structural applications.
